Garrett County Arrests Today
Garrett County publishes no official page limited to the last day or two of arrests. The nearest same-day check pairs the Garrett County Sheriff's Office home page with the newest rows of its Arrest Log. The home page carries a Recent Arrests module. It is a newest-items box, not a clock-driven report. Its dates can span more than a week. So the module proves neither that everyone shown was booked today nor that every booking has posted. That gap matters for anyone tracking today's arrests.
Each log row lists a date, a name, a status, and a detail-page link. No time of day appears. The Sheriff posts no refresh schedule. No same-day cutoff is listed either. A date is just the date the page shows. For someone booked minutes ago, assume the page lags until the Detention Center confirms custody.
The official newest-items module shows the layout used for the closest same-day fallback.
This screenshot illustrates the Garrett County Sheriff's arrest interface. It is not a gallery or a complete list of people arrested within any fixed period.
Note: The official pages do not state a weekend, holiday, or overnight publication schedule for Garrett County arrest entries.
Check Garrett County Arrest Entries
Run the two official views in order. The Arrest Log offers no search fields. No name, charge, or date-range query exists. Browser find can still scan the loaded list for a name. Switch channels when the question is present custody, and note the date and status shown for later comparison.
- Open the Sheriff home page and review its Recent Arrests module. Treat it as a short list of newly displayed items, not a guaranteed daily report.
- Open the official Garrett County Arrest Log. Compare its newest name, date, and status with the home module.
- Select a matching name. Read only the fields actually labeled on the detail page, and do not interpret the internal URL value as a booking number.
- For current county custody, call the Garrett County Detention Center at 301-334-5055. A log entry can remain after release or another status change.
- If the needed arrest record or photo is not public, contact GCSO at 301-334-1911 or gcso@garrettcountymd.gov and ask where its records custodian accepts a focused Maryland PIA request.
A custody alert answers a different need. Maryland VINE can track release or transfer events once a record is loaded. It is no substitute for a direct same-day call. The site's navigation covers the VINELink Inmate Check steps without promising that every fresh Garrett booking is already in VINE.
Garrett Daily Arrest Report Fields
The public detail is far thinner. A full jail-management record holds far more. A booking image appears in context. Charges, bond, court dates, facility, and booking number are not promised fields. Never fill those gaps from an unofficial site. When a field matters, use the Sheriff's records route or Maryland courts.
| Field | What the official view provides |
|---|---|
| Name | Shown in the list and on the linked detail page. |
| Displayed date | Shown without a public time-of-day stamp. |
| Status | A GCSO label such as pending, released, or sentenced, not a court disposition. |
| Booking photo | Displayed on reviewed official detail pages, though publication is not promised for every matter. |
| Charges, bond, court date | Not visibly labeled on the examined current detail. |
| Booking number or facility | Not visibly labeled; an internal URL parameter is not a public booking number. |
The official GCSO detail example documents the limited field layout.
The screenshot explains the source interface, not a sorted gallery of booking photos.
Garrett Arrest Status Versus Custody
A just-booked person, a Detention Center detainee, and a name in past arrest history are three different things. The public log carries pending, released, and sentenced labels. Those words track the Sheriff page's status column. They say nothing about a case's final outcome. Custody changes faster than the list does. They also cannot promise the person is still in the building when you read the page.
- Booking
- The intake record created after an arrest or warrant-related custody event.
- Current custody
- Physical detention now, best confirmed through the Detention Center rather than inferred from an old web entry.
- Disposition
- The court’s resolution of the case. It may differ from the charge or status shown at booking.
- Transfer
- Movement to another jurisdiction or custody system, which can make county and state results diverge.
The Detention Center houses several distinct groups. Bond holds, sentence holds, and transfer holds all sit there. That mix explains why the arrest log and a live custody answer can differ. State custody brings the DPSCS locator into play. For a fresh Garrett County booking, though, that locator is not the first source.
Note: A released label concerns custody, while dismissal, acquittal, plea, and sentence are court outcomes found through the proper docket.
No Garrett Booking App
The Sheriff's office lists no mobile app for inmate lookup, daily bookings, or booking photos. Its detention resources name none either. Avoid any app that merely borrows the county name. The website, the Arrest Log, the detention phone, and state VINE each play a distinct role. Those are the reliable channels.
The Sheriff's communications stream can carry public-safety notices. It is not a complete arrest feed. Maryland VINE supports custody and court-status alerts when an event exists, though it publishes no Garrett-specific upload interval. Call 911 for urgent safety issues. For routine custody questions, phone the detention office instead of waiting on an automated alert.
Request Missing Garrett Arrest Records
When the same-day checks miss a report or photo you need, ask the Sheriff's records custodian. Name the record you want. Include the person's name and the approximate booking date. Add the arresting agency if you know it. Say whether you want the booking record, the photo, or both. GCSO need not create a new record, and it may redact protected parts while releasing what it can.

Find out first where the record's current custodian wants a written request sent. Garrett follows Maryland PIA timing. Access must come promptly, and never later than thirty days without a valid denial. The work may take more than ten working days. If so, the office has to tell you. The county's general public-information form is a backup route. It is not the first stop for a Sheriff booking record.
Older events sit beyond the newest-items window. The broader Weekly Arrest Log page shows how entries roll into month history. That helps when the arrest is further back.
Garrett Arrests Are Accusations
Maryland Judiciary Case Search is the tool for following a Garrett arrest into court. It pulls up public dockets by name or case number. Sealed and shielded files stay off the screen. Juvenile matters are protected as well. A case that never appears online can still exist at the courthouse.
A same-name match deserves a second look. Compare the arrest date and other neutral details against the official record. The Garrett court clerk can fill in what the online view lacks. Some matters never reach the public docket at all. Maryland courts restrict or remove certain cases from display. So the clerk's office is the surer stop.
